The Journey Home: Part Two (Day 13)

In an attempt to regain the miles not covered in yesterday’s short day, the group decided to “go for it” today. So, at 8:10a.m they depart Olney, Illinois. They remained on the back roads most of the way and took in more of the secrets of rural mid-America. The sky was totally cloudless all day and temperatures hovered in the upper 60’s range. How could the road trip conditions be more pleasant? So it was on into Missouri, then Arkansas.

Bob found us an out of the way family diner in Walnut Ridge, AR for a well-needed lunch stop. From there, we thought we had gotten redirected off course, but without consequence, as we soon recaptured the original route.
